This policy explains how Red Beard Productions, trading as Red Beard Photo & Film, collects, uses and protects your personal information. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your banking login details, card numbers or passwords.
When you press send, the details you entered are passed to EmailJS, a service that delivers them to us as an email and sends you a copy confirming we received your enquiry. Nothing you type is stored on this website itself. EmailJS keeps a short history of sent emails for delivery and troubleshooting. If EmailJS cannot be reached, your browser instead composes the email in your own email application, which you then choose to send.

Unless you opt out in writing, our service agreement grants us a non-exclusive licence to use images and footage from your wedding or shoot for our portfolio, marketing, social media and competition entries. You can opt out by ticking the relevant box in the agreement, or by telling us in writing at any time, including after the wedding. If you ask us to stop using a particular image, we will remove it from our own channels; we cannot always retract copies already shared by others.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where we have to:
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Contracts, invoices and related records are kept for five years, as South African tax and company law requires. Final images and footage are archived at our discretion, you are responsible for downloading and backing up your own copies of everything we deliver, as set out in the service agreement.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information safe, including access-controlled storage, backed-up media and password-protected devices. No system is perfect, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant or out of date, and to stop processing it for marketing. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
